Dosage: for a 500kg horse about 0.5-2.0 kg per day depending on the animal’s weight and workload, by 15-20% per daily ration of basic hay or hay pellets. Foals 170-350kg – 0.5kg per day, 500kg hobby horse 1-2kg per day, 500 kg racehorse 2-3kg per day. It is recommended to soak the alfalfa pellets in water before use (approx. 1.5-2 hour cold soak or 15-20 minutes hot soaking time), using a ratio of 1 kg to 2.5-3 litres of water making it ideal for your horse and especially for older animals who struggle to chew.
